Why get your backflow tested?

To help protect your water, a backflow prevention device is installed in your plumbing system. This device defends against cross-contamination and hazardous substances that may otherwise find their way into the water supply. State plumbing codes typically require the installation of backflow prevention devices in most commercial buildings, and some residential buildings whenever there is a chance that a “back flow” of water could be sucked into the clean water system.

Over time, back flow devices can lose functionality and harmful materials may contaminate the water. The size and complexity of the installed back flow prevention device will determine the specific risks that each situation presents.

Ultimately, Backflow prevention devices are key to protecting your safe water supply, and the environment. Most need to be checked annually.
